Code of Conduct

Setting the direction needed to achieve our aim to operate with a high level of ethics in line with our values is Amvico’s Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct. We aspire to operate with a high level of ethics in all our home markets. To achieve this, we are supported by our Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct, which each explains the behaviours we expect from our supply chain and other partners.

Our Code of Conduct is based on Amvico’s values, and those values are more than mere words – they are how we strive to live every day. They set the expectation for conducting our business in responsible and sustainable ways – enabling us to be a trusted partner to our customers. Amvico’s Code of Conduct is key to bringing our values to life.

Our Code of Conduct establishes how we should conduct ourselves in interactions with fellow employees, our customers, the communities in which we operate and other stakeholders. It provides Amvico employees with hands-on guidance on how to act in accordance with our values – specifically to act ethically and transparently. The Code provides many examples to help employees apply the concepts in daily life. We launched our latest Code of Conduct on January, 2018. It is supplemented by our Supplier Code of Conduct. Amvico’s Code of Conduct is also available at request from enquiries@amvico.co.uk.

Open culture

Our Code of Conduct provides employees with direction, but they will still face dilemmas involving ethics. We promote a transparent workplace culture in which ethics is openly and regularly discussed, including with “value moments” on the commencement of meetings. Through this, we want employees to be comfortable raising ethical questions and dilemmas with their supervisors and others. All employees need to feel empowered to report instances of non-compliance with our Code.

Reporting concerns

Each Amvico team has an ethics team-leader that investigates all reports. One way to make reports is by calling our main phone line. This is accessible to both employees and outside parties including customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Our approach

Our relationships with clients are most productive when we are involved at an early stage. This allows us to establish and work together towards common aims that serve our client’s customers and provides the best environment for us to add value for them and their customers. We work on conventional contracts, in joint venture, and on frameworks and in partnership depending on the project requirements and the customer.

Health & Safety

We are committed to ensuring that everyone who works with and for us returns home safely and healthy at the end of the working day. Amvico takes all necessary measures to ensure high standards of safety, health, and welfare at the work place for all its employees, clients, and sub-contractors. We will always fulfil our moral and legal responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Act. It is our policy to perform all aspects of our work in the safest practical manner consistent with the accepted standards.

As a responsible employer, Amvico recognises the “duty of care” both to clients and employees. We recognise that current Health and Safety at Work legislation and Construction Design Management regulations represent the minimum standard, which should, and will be, applied at all times. In addition to meeting current legislation, we will work closely with you to ensure that our site(s) reflect our own high standards in respect to the specific risks present with each project. Our contracts and project managers will ensure that these standards are applied.

A culture of care and concern

Fostering a culture of care and concern for others is at the heart of our Injury-Free Environment programme. This is accompanied by the most rigorous application of best practice health and safety processes and procedures – adhering to occupational CSCS health and safety standards as a minimum.

Every Amvico worker must feel empowered to never accept unsafe behaviour. We have a no-blame culture: learning from accidents and incidents, however they occur, is key to protecting people better in the future.
