5 Reasons Why Your Home Isn’t Selling

If you have been trying to sell your home, but for some reason, it just isn’t moving, there are reasons that you should look into. Often when you are moving, you are, at least trying, to do so on somewhat of a timeline. So before you get too frustrated, and stressed out about having to get your house sold quickly, take a look at some of the more popular reasons why houses just are not selling.

Staging and Maintenance

When it comes to getting your house ready to sell, staging and proper maintenance are everything. Take a look around your house, has the lawn gotten just a little too long? Is every surface in your house covered in stuff? Are your kids’ toys taking over the living room?

Making sure that your home is properly prepared to sell is a necessary step in selling your home quickly and for top dollar.

Setting a Realistic Price

Odds are, that too at least a certain extent you are emotionally invested in your home. That is natural. You have hundreds of memories in that house, but those feelings often cloud a seller’s judgment regarding just how much their home is actually worth. One way of making sure that you are listing your home for a fair price, right around market value, is by speaking with a qualified real estate agent. This will give you a ballpark estimate of what your home is actually worth, and what it will sell for.

You are not Listed Online

Today everything can be done online. Real estate sections of the newspaper are getting smaller, and smaller because everyone is just using their computer to see what is available. If you are not listed online how is anyone supposed to find your house?

Lackluster Photos

When looking to buy a house, what is the first thing that most people do? They go online and see what is available in their desired area, and for their price point. What’s more, it’s often the photos that draw potential buyers in and make them want to learn more. If your house doesn’t show well in the online photos, why would anyone want to read up on it more, or take the time out of their busy schedules to see it? Remember, this is how you are introducing your home to its next residents, start out on the right foot.

You Are Not Really Trying to Sell

If you are reading this article and going, “that’s me, that’s me, that’s me” then perhaps you should decide if you actually want to sell your house. If you are not doing these things, if you are not keeping your house looking like a show-home, ready for viewings at any time, then you are not really putting in the effort that it takes to sell your home quickly.

Selling your home is a stressful time, but it doesn’t have to drag out forever. Hopefully, these reasons as to why your home isn’t selling will help you start selling. Good luck!
